So good, I don't know where to start. You wait a little while but with such a beautiful outdoor seating space you hardly notice the time passing. They offer brisket Mac and cheese, I subbed for pulled pork and tried both bbq sauces. Since they're so amazing I ended up mixing them. Love love love.

What a great find this is! It was very near closing time but really wanted to try the BBQ. We arrived with about 20 minutes intending to ask for takeout. They are so friendly, insisting we stay and eat if we'd prefer. We were treated like family. We chose to eat outside on their cute patio area. This has to be the best smoked meat we have had ever! The owner smokes meats every night for the next day's menu. It is a slow process and he has the technique recipes down for the best tasting meats. My husband ordered the habanero sausages. They were spicy but not hot. Perfect - working very well with the honey-mustard provided. I ordered the brisket that was so yummy. The BBQ sauces and honey mustard are perfect pairings to the smoked meats. The sides and green chili cornbread alone are good enough to drive back for. We had the coleslaw, beans, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Wow! the Mac and cheese is a little spicy and so creamy. My husband who doesn't like Mac 'n cheese at all ate half of mine! Wow what a delicious meal with generous portions leaving plenty of leftovers to bring home. No one seemed to mind at all that we were there well past closing time, thanking us for visiting as much when we were leaving as when we arrived. We will definitely be back to Wickenburg - if just to stop and eat at Onery Hog BBQ.

My daughter wanted to meet us halfway in Wickenburg for her birthday. She said let's try The Ornery Hog for BBQ! OMG, was it the Best we have ever tasted?! Like their card says "Best barbecue you'll ever run a lip across!" I had the ribs and pulled pork and it was so tender, fall off the bones ribs and was full of flavor!!! My mouth is watering just remembering it! Lots to choose from the menu too, you are sure to find something you'll love! The atmosphere was very decorative and interesting. Lots of room for large group too. The owners Don and Jo felt like family, the kind you want to have Sunday dinner with!! Excellent service!!! We celebrated my daughter's birthday and had a wonderful experience and definitely will be back again.

Get the stuffed potato! It's a meal unto itself. Loaded is an understatement. Everything was good. Hope you like your protein with a kick because they serve it jacked up with plenty of bite. I'm not much of a sausage guy (who knows what goes into it), but had the sausage as recommended by the staff and it was gooood, too! Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. You'll feel right at home the moment you walk in. Definitely do not come in looking for white table clothes or a wine list. Just bring your appetite for some good ol' BBQ in an atmosphere all BBQ restaurants could take a lesson from.

The couple here were so sweet and welcoming, we were patiently waiting in the car for them to open at 11, so the wife waved us in when she flipped on the open sign. I ordered the Mac and cheese with brisket, a single peach habanero sausage, and a corn bread. My hubs got the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad, and we got an apple cobbler to share. When I say every bite was perfect, I'm not exaggerating. I may have over ordered but don't regret a single thing because everything was a shining example of that item. All the sauces were excellent, well balanced and enhanced the food. I recommend crumbling the cornbread on top of the brisket mac and cheese, adding another layer of sweet bbq sauce and digging in. You won't regret it. I'm also a dessert snob, they're often too sweet and one note, but the cobbler was just right- not too sweet, caramelized and paired with a nice vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend this stop, 10/10! We book marked it and will be back!

We were in Wickenburg, AZ last week, late in the afternoon, with some appetites looking for something special; We found the Onery Hog BBQ on Yelp and decided to give it a try. This was a great decision on our part. Upon arriving we noticed that this was a small out of the way, very local BBQ joint. The place is small enough to pass by if you're not a local, or a tourist with a gps or SIRI.They have limited hours, look before you go. In any event, we did stop in and had an early dinner which was terrific. My friend had the pork rib/ pulled pork combo, my bride had a baked potato with pulled pork, cheese and beans and my friends wife and I each ordered a brisket sandwich with cole slaw and potato salad. I enjoyed every bite of everything I ate. Our ladies thought the potato salad was a bit creamy (them, not me) but I thought it was perfect. We all agreed that the Cole slaw was wonderful. All of the meat was very flavorful, quite tender and the portions were very generous. I had an opportunity to talk with the pit master who has been cooking since he was seven years old. His background is very interesting and explains his desire to cook classic dishes, especially smoked, BBQ foods. The folks that operate this BBQ joint really seem to care about their food and customer experience. That's a wonderful thing to discover these days. Do I recommend this restaurant? YES, 100% The only downside: No alcohol. I could have really enjoyed a beer with my brisket sandwich, no big deal at all. This is definitely a go back restaurant

Ended up here by chance when Google maps sent us the long-way 'round to get from Phoenix to Prescott. Walked in and exclaimed that the place smelled good and the gal behind the counter said "Tastes good too!" Split a beavertail combo with my companion (brisket, ribs and two sides) and split a peach cobbler as well. Food and service were delightful (Ken the proprietor stopped by the table to check on us- lovely gent with a sassy sense of humor). Only complaint (if you can call it that) is there was a lot of religion about the place (even in the powder room). That kind of evangelizing is not my cup of tea but otherwise grade A spot!
